Transparency is key, don't you see?

21st December 2012 at 00:00

Given Sir Michael Wilshaw's well-publicised concern that there should be a strong link between performance management and appraisal and salary progression, will he publish the criteria for appraising the performance of the new regional directors and also publish, suitably anonymised, the outcomes of that appraisal process, including salary progression beyond #163;140,000 a year ("Regional director pay rockets to tempt heads", 14 December)? Or is that asking for too much transparency from Ofsted?

Colin Richards, Spark Bridge, Cumbria.
