Trust status surge

11th April 2008 at 01:00
Some 100 more schools have signed up for the Government's Trust Schools programme, which creates long-term partnerships between schools and external businesses. There are already 42 trust schools, working with local universities, businesses and charities. Partners so far include Microsoft, Barnardo's and the Cooperative Group. The new signatories means a total of 390 schools are now working towards trust status.
