The Ultimate Teen Book Guide

27th January 2006 at 00:00
The Ultimate Teen Book Guide, the follow-up to last year's Blue Peter winner, the Ultimate book guide for eight to 12-year-olds, offers 700 recommended books to tempt readers from 13 upwards. The editors, including school librarian Leonie Flynn, have recruited contributors including authors Anthony Horowitz, Anne Fine and Darren Shan to pitch their favourite books to new readers. Besides top contemporary teenage bestsellers, there are classics and cult fiction from the adult shelves. As David Almond says in the introduction, "It points you to many sidetracks and landmarks and highlights that other travellers have found worth visiting." Publisher AC Black has offered 10 copies (usual price pound;12.99) to Friday readers. Email friday@tes.co.uk (mark your message "Teen book guide") or send a postcard to the address on page 2 by February 10.
