UN suspends relief work in Kosovo; In brief

2nd April 1999 at 01:00
EDUCATION relief work in Kosovo has ground to a halt as a result of the conflict, the United Children's Fund (UNICEF) said. It is now focusing on emergency help for the estimated 90,000 refugees who have left the Yugoslavian province for neighbouring Montenegro, Macedonia and Albania in the past 10 days. The agency will provide temporary schools, books and teachers to keep children's education going.

Donations can be sent (cheques payable to UNICEF) to the TES Kosovo Appeal, UNICEF, Freepost, Chelmsford CMT 8BR.
