Unfit for games

"FITNESS fiasco as pupils dodge PE" (TES August 18), warns that "large classes allow too many lazy pupils to avoid physical work".

It would seem that this laziness also applies to much smaller classes: the photograph accompanying this article seems to show that some pupils cannot be bothered to hange into suitable sports clothes, wear appropriate footwear, tie back their loose hair or remove their bracelets or watches.

What a risk this teacher has taken in allowing pupils to contravene health and safety rules.
