Union fights appeal

Leaders of the lecturers' union NATFHE are believed to be preparing legal action over the sacking of Accrington and Rossendale College union secretary Pat Walsh.

The union is considering a challenge to Mr Walsh's unsuccessful appeal against redundancy.

He suffered a setback last week when union members voted against a planned walkout over the issue. NATFHE members held a meeting after a ballot came down in favour of action, by just one vote.
