Union refreshed

Does your reporter Jonathan Milne realise that the "T" in NUT stands for teachers and not for temperance? ("NUT links to drinks industry it attacks", TES, July 13.)

So we have a bar, part-funded by a brewery loan, at our rural residential conference and training centre in Stoke Rochford, Lincolnshire. Would it be better if we sent delegates off in their cars to pubs in Grantham when they wanted to relax?
