Union turns to Taylor

Northumberland College lecturer Kathy Taylor has been elected national president of the University and College Union (UCU)

Ms Taylor will serve as vice-president for two years before becoming president in 2012.

Meanwhile, lecturers will tomorrow march on Downing Street and hand a statement to Prime Minister Gordon Brown protesting against the cuts to further and higher education.
