University faces 180-job axe

Scotland's largest university is to axe 180 jobs in a bid to meet budget cuts of Pounds 6 million. All 5,500 staff at Glasgow University have received letters asking them to consider early retirement or voluntary redundancy. The cuts are expected to hit one in 12 of the teaching, administration and technical staff.
