Citizenship involves both facts and values, and one of the most stimulating ways to bring the two into the same discussion is to watch a film. Of Public Concern is a video hire library offering an impressively wide range of features and documentaries. Some are classics such as Eisenstein's October, Renoir's La Grande Illusion or Satyajit Ray's Bengali masterpiece Pather Panchali. There are also many more recent films, including some made for television, encompassing themes such as feminism, peace and war, politics and racism. Films cost pound;7 for a week's loan, pp included.
