Violent attacks

In the third attack on Chinese pupils in as many days, a man injured five preschool-age kids in Shandong Province with a hammer last Friday before setting himself on fire. The attack came a day after an unemployed man injured 28 pupils and teachers with a knife in an eastern China school, and two days after 18 pupils and a teacher were attacked by another knife-wielding man in southern China. Officials have tightened security in schools.
