Virginia Makins's article on procedures for governors who believe their heads are not up to the job (TES, November 25) should have made it clear that local education authority schools should do their utmost to get the authority's agreement before going to formal procedures. Unless the LEA supports the move, the school will be responsible for any legal fees.
