Virginity drama

JIM O'Neill was the toast of the press last week, hungry for action in the silly season. He was even called up by a talk show in Perth, Australia. The audience seemed unruffled by his attack on their nation's pop queen and listened attentively. They let him air the serious message that Kylie's bottom had obscured - a lament for the loss of childhood innocence.

But, when the PAT president first made his comments about innocence, a rather different vision of youth was being played out nearby. The hotel that hosted the PAT conference, The Majestic in Harrogate, was also being used for filming of ITV's The Quest II - the story of three boys who are trying to lose their virginity.
