The Scottish Volleyball Association has re-appointed Jim Ferguson (Queensferry High School) as its national schools' co-ordinator for another three years. One of Mr Ferguson's main responsibilities will be to attract new pupils into the game through schools festivals.

The SVA is offering grants for equipment in schools to ensure that sports halls and gymnasiumsare fitted out with volleyball posts, fixings and nets.

Volleyball offers four development awards at school level (P6-7, S1-2, Standard and Higher grade) in addition to the four-day teacher education courses. The sport is one of the top four on the PE curriculum, so the SVA is concerned that teachers improve their knowledge through courses it offers.
