Volunteers get competitive

Public-spirited school groups can compete for the title of volunteer project of the year. To mark the Year of the Volunteer, 13 to 16-year-olds can submit details of a project that benefits their community. The competition, sponsored by the Cooperative Insurance Society, offers a top prize of pound;1,250. Entries by March 31. Contact: (0161) 829 4284
