Walsall's hidden achievement

4th February 2005 at 00:00
I am writing in disappointment at the recent coverage of the Ofsted report on Walsall.

The report was by any standards a remarkable one and showed that much progress has been made. It included such phrases as "good leadership by senior officers" and "transformed the majority of education services",and "good progress in a short time". This is a great news story and reflects well on Education Walsall, councillors and staff in our schools. Yet the story had minimal coverage and instead there was extensive coverage of issuesdifficulties in Bradford. We hope you will rectify this by more in-depth coverage of this transformation of education in Walsall.
