Ward to web;Diary

11th June 1999 at 01:00
THE GREAT schemester Roger Ward has found his match - his love match that is. The disgraced former chief executive of the Association of Colleges, who quit last year after The TES exposed financial irregularities, is to marry on Monday, we gather.

His bride - the third Mrs Ward - will be Jenny Hoyland, principal of Hendon College in London. Jenny, touchingly, was his childhood sweetheart. Champagne, always Roger's favourite tipple, will no doubt liberally be poured.

Roger has not been idle since slipping away from his desk 18 months ago. He was last seen in a Firkin pub - eerily in a deconsecrated church - discussing his next venture with a builder.

He's planning to open a restaurant in Muswell Hill.
