On Ward's march

AND finally, the Diary is pleased to confirm its April prediction that Roger Ward would expand his restaurant empire.

The former Association of Colleges chief - who resigned after The TES exposed his financial shenanigans two years ago - has opened The Lane in London's trendy Marylebone He already owns Cafe on the Hill in Muswell Hill.

Sadly Roger was not in The Lane when we called to see how the new venture was going, but we wish him all the best.

But can even running two restaurants be stimulating enough for someone once described as a "workaholic"?
