We are unique

What the GTC should be doing is identifying and promoting teachers' uniqueness, not comparing itself with the GMC ("Cracking the conduct code", February 13).

The GMC charges all doctors an annual retention fee of Pounds 390 yet it failed to identify and stop Harold Shipman. Teaching doesn't need an organisation of that cost, scale and questionable effectiveness.
