We will remember

13th November 2009 at 00:00

Caldervale High in North Lanarkshire hosted its annual Evening of Remembrance on Wednesday in memory of service men and women, past and present. Pupils had visited Belgium and France during the October holiday, and laid wreaths at memorials of their relatives. Some had formed part of the ceremony at Menin Gate, where names of 16 soldiers from Airdrie are carved in stone. The Remembrance Evening featured a film of the visit, music, poetry and drama, following work by several departments on war- related themes. Proceeds from the evening will go to the Erskine home for service men and women.
