Weekend pay

7th July 1995 at 01:00
New provisions have been made in the 1995 School Teachers' Pay Document for paying teachers who do in-service training at weekends and during the school holidays. Governors will also be able to pay those doing initial teacher training. The Department for Education said money currently used to pay for supply cover can be paid directly to teachers. The document also gives guidance, based on indicators recommended by the teachers' review body, for governing bodies to assess the performance of headteachers and deputies.
