Welsh seek teaching council head;In brief

THE TOP post at the General Teaching Council for Wales has been advertised - four months after the English equivalent was appointed. The Welsh post-holder can expect a salary of between pound;41,550 and pound;55,000, and will be an employee of the Welsh Assembly until GTC Wales is formally established next September. Carol Adams, the English chief executive, was appointed in August and took up her post - advertised at "around pound;80,000" - in October.
