What's his Tory?

FIRMLY signed up to the Tory education agenda, on the other hand, seems to be ... Chris Woodhead! His article in the same issue, on how to get more state pupils into Oxbridge (answer: OFSTED, stupid), mentions common sense twice, and praises the wonders ofpublic schools.

He followed that double-whammy on Tuesday with his report on failing education authorities and a call to give schools "freedom to manage their own destiny".

Little Willy, with his "free schools" policy, will be pleased.
