In England, there are 149,209 students (98,760 part-timers) in 268 colleges getting through a budget of pound;142 million The largest proportion of them is tudying HNC (22.1 per cent) NVQs (15 per cent) HNDs (14.4 per cent)

In Wales, 6 per cent of students in FE take higher education qualifications

In Northern Ireland, the figure is 15 per cent

In Scotland, the figure is 29 per cent
