Will Winchester admit girls?

28th April 2006 at 01:00
All-male Winchester college, meanwhile - one of the HMC's most venerable members - is thinking very seriously about admitting girls. So seriously, that it has set up a "Question of Girls" committee, consisting of old boys, high-ranking staff members and two current pupils.

Wykehamists are noted for their brainpower, otherworldliness and bureaucratic skills. So the Diary likes to imagine them sitting in a dusty room with this agenda: Item a) What is a girl? Item b) What do they like? Item c) How do we meet them?

Will they also change the motto: "Manners Makyth Man"?
