The winners of places at this year's National Youth Dance Festival, a six-day programme of workshops and events for young dancers, have been announced.

The festival will take place from July 6 and culminates in a public performance at The Lowry art gallery in Salford.

Linda Jasper, the director of Youth Dance England, said the event was "an opportunity to profile some of the best youth dance work in the country"

and for pupils to learn new skills.
