With just two weeks to go until the winners of the TES FE Awards 2016 are announced, anticipation in the sector is building.

And TES can reveal that the host for the glittering awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel in London on Friday 22 April will be comedian Shappi Khorsandi.

Having made her name as a stand-up, Shappi has had guest appearances on television’s Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo and The Big Read. She is also a regular on BBC Radio 4, appearing on Quote...Unquote, The Unbelievable Truth and her own series, Shappi Talk.

Rewarding excellence

Shappi will help to present awards in all of our categories, including the teacher of the year, FE leader of the year and the overall FE provider of the year.

More than 100 providers, individuals and teams are in the running for the 14 awards, which this year are being held in association with the Education and Training Foundation. The full shortlist can be viewed here.

For more information about the awards, or to book your table at the ceremony, visit the official awards website.
