St Bede’s Catholic Grammar School in Bradford has won first prize in the TES Centenary Prize Draw. Individual winner, Daniel Higgins (left), received #163;5,000 while his headteacher, Frank Ashcroft (right) picked up a #163;5,000 check on behalf of his school from TES editor Gerard Kelly (centre). Second prize - #163;2,500 for her school and #163;2,500 personally - went to Elspeth Wollen of the Ridgeway School and Sixth Form College in Swindon. There were two third prize winners - who won #163;1,250 each and the same for their school. These were Claire Hampson of Thirsk School and Sixth Form College and Peter Houghton of St Andrew’s Methodist Primary in Manchester.
