SMUG grins in the TES newsroom at successfully flushing out Dugald Sandeman, the “hot tip” for Nick Tate’s job at the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.

Our exclusive revelations last week forced Dugald, drafted in from the Department for Education and Employment to run the quango’s strategy and communications team, t issue a dramatic statement to QCA staff ... saying he hadn’t applied, wasn’t going to apply, and since he was actually in charge of recruitment couldn’t really apply anyway.
