Think and be better-taught

Pupils can gain the equivalent of more than half a year's extra schooling if teachers use a "thinking skills" approach, a study suggests. By teaching children to express their thinking processes, teachers can improve attitude and performance. The improvement is more marked in maths and science than reading, the review of research led by Newcastle university found.
