It is a Latin school motto for the 21st century, In omnibus laborum.

Visitors to the TES online staffroom have been coining new Latin mottos more appropriate to the modern teenager, such as the one above - which translates as “Do your homework on the bus”.

The discussion started as one contributor questioned the value of a more traditional motto: Ultra optime melius est (“Beyond the best there is a better”). Others soon piled in with alternatives including Oi day doit (“It wasn’t me”, from a teacher at an inner-city Midlands comprehensive) and Fac ut gaudeam, rusticus (“Make my day, punk”).
