Time for sport

Having read the LEA proposals for a six-term year on the same day as watching a feeble display of English test cricket, dare I hope that, for all its problems, moving to an earlier exam season may revive school cricket at a senior level? A full and compulsory post-exam termof sport, social and other enriching activities may help to compensate for a sixth-form life now totally dominated by exams and subject syllabuses.
