DOES your correspondent Ms Roux (TES, January 28) really believe that the forced introduction of performance-related pay will help create more “inspirational teachers”?
The unpopular and ill-advised introduction of performance-
related pay will not only serve to increase the pressures already felt by teachers but ad to their stresses and demoralise them even further.
Ms Roux needs to realise that it is hard to be inspirational when you are completely exhausted. Surely the way to create inspirational teachers must be to lessen their burdens, not increase them.
