I hear Jackie “I don’t do cuddling” Fisher, the principal of Newcastle college, is not amused by Natfhe’s testimony to her tough leadership style, which was reported in FE Focus last week.
A union representative at the college reported that staff pay and morale had suffered under her management and that in her first year at the college she had caused “two strikes and a lot of bitterness”.
After the article appeared she sent round a memo to all staff at the college declaring that: “I personally find this attack on our outstanding achievement absolutely appalling and I hope you do too.”
A mole tells me the union has been told to say on the record whether it agrees with the comments, made to our reporter from behind the cloak of anonymity.
Oh dear. I recommend a group hug in the principal’s office. Or perhaps not.
