The former Midlands Railway Goods Depot at Whitechapel, Liverpool, opens to the public as a Conservation Centre in September. Visitors will see how the conservation experts working for Merseyside’s museums look after the exhibits, including paintings, furniture, sculpture, ceramics, metals and textiles. The original “Spirit of Liverpool” statue from the Walker Art Gallery and the “Eros” statue from Sefton Park are being re-located there.
