Truancy: blame the liberals

Education minister Ivan Lewis hit out yesterday at "weak liberals" who he claimed had allowed truancy to go unchallenged. Mr Lewis told a conference in London on reducing exclusions and truancy that "weak liberals have preached compassion and practised neglect".
