Trust wants universal childcare

CHILDCARE charity The Daycare Trust says the Government’s pledge to end child poverty will only work if it provides universal childcare. The charity says that the number of childcare places for children under eight in England increased by just 2 per cent in 200001, and childcare costs in the UK are the highest in Europe. The trust wants a children’s centre in every neighbourhood catering for children under 14.
