In Search of the Past. Annan Historic Resources Centre. Dumfries and Galloway until May 15

Newly reopened, the centre has more than doubled its exhibition space.

There is a permanent Scottish history display on the first floor which has been created with primary schools in mind and covers four main topics: the Romans, medieval times (Robert the Bruce to Mary, Queen of Scots), the 18th century and the Victorians.

Running in the temporary exhibitions space is In Search of the Past, an object and activities show based on new archaeological finds uncovered in Dumfries and Galloway. Children - and adults - can try out a computer program, examine part of a reconstructed Iron Age round house, search for ancient artefacts in a dry mud pit and try weaving.
