A pupil from Neath who struggled at school and was set to be permanently excluded with no GSCEs has won a prestigious education award. Arron Lloyd, 16, had emotional and behavioural difficulties and was involved with a gang and drug taking. But after taking part in the Prince’s Trust Cymru’s xl programme he turned his life around and was last week named Educational Achiever of the Year by the youth charity.
