If those employed in education do not act with good faith towards each other, how can we expect any government to treat us with respect?

I was recently offered a fixed- term contract by a Hampshire school only to have the offer withdrawn - over the phone - because the government had “moved the goalposts” on early retirement.

I had considered our agreement: verbal acceptance from me, written offer from the school, to be a watertight contract, thus refusing a subsequent offer of work. The school had no such scruples, and, while I recognise their situation, I cannot help but feel that this is a clear case of two wrongs...
