The Hack Green Nuclear Bunker, an underground maze of passages and rooms near Nantwich from which 130 civil servants and military personnel would have ruled north-west England if a nuclear war had broken out, has been declassified and opened to the public. Built on the site of a Second World War radar station, it has a decontamination room, BBC studio and fallout filter plants. For details tel: 01270 629219.
