Union deal on six-term year

Authorities which switch to a six-term year are being told to set a fixed two-week spring break in early April in a deal between a teachers' union and the Local Government Association.

The National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers has announced that it will end its disputes with authorities - including Essex - over their term plans for 20056 if they adopt this pattern.
