The two biggest classroom unions in Wales have fallen out over children going on term-time holidays. Geraint Davies, secretary of the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers Cymru, this week told the Western Mail that primary children in particular could learn more from two weeks abroad than in school. Gethin Lewis, secretary of the National Union of Teachers Cymru,told TESCymru that term-time holidays were “very disruptive” to children’s education.
