An unreal world of privilege

Anthony Seldon asks "how can we have two separate educational systems, when we are trying to build a harmonious nation?"

We can have this initially because his parents wish to separate themselves from state education and all involved in it.

How can there be realistic partnerships between a system catering for all children and an exclusive one only interested in able children, whose parents can afford fees of up to pound;24,000 per year, and which is happy to pass on "problems" to the state sector?

How about a real partnership in which private schools accept a fair share of educating all our nation's children instead of helping, in the name of charity, mainly the more privileged? They would then cease to be one of the main sources of inequality and division in our society.
