Despite the sentiments of your editorial (TES, March 21), I would be more than happy if the forthcoming general election did turn the educational world upside down.
Given the current state of the parties and despite new Labour’s havering on every issue - from what to do about the Office for Standards in Education to class sizes - it is possible that the anti-conservative landslide that is coming may produce long overdue pressure for change despite Tony Blair’s best or worst intentions.
Given that all parties say they believe in a politically active democracy, I trust that these and many other issues will be discussed in our classrooms before May 1.
