Value for money

I was delighted to read that Gillian Shephard sees the delivery of fair information during an opt-out ballot as important, but perturbed that Sir Bob Balchin's Grant-Maintained Schools Foundation was seen as the way to ensure this (TES, October 28).

As any parent who has been involved in an opt-out ballot knows, the very reason Parents Opposed to Opting-out came into existence was because the publicly-funded GMSF (Pounds 2.5 million so far) only provides part of the GMS story, not the whole.

If we may immodestly assume that we are part of the "slick" anti-GM movement volunteer parents, then Mrs Shephard is definitely not getting value for money from Sir Bob!
