VIOLENCE in the home has doubled in some parts of the country over a year, said the Racial and Violent Crime Task Force.
But members, including senior police, think that only 20 per cent of incidents are reported and therecould be as many as 35,000 cases of domestic violence each month.
“The scale is mind-blowing. We have to make domestic violence as socially unacceptable as drink-driving,” said chief superintendent John Godsave.
