THE Diary admires Birmingham Community College’s chutzpah... and optimism. It invited the press to the launch of an adult learning project called “IT works” (IT, get it?) promising Sir Richard Branson would enrol as a student on a satellite link from Euston station.
Branson was taking part becauseVirgin Trains is a “proud partner” in the scheme that will provide training for employees. But, before we could learn more about “IT works”, we found, er, it didn’t.
It appears the great entrepreneur is busy with the Camelot debacle and, like his trains, his enrolment has been delayed.
