“Love, Devotion and Surrender” was launched at the Portland Gallery in London last month, but most of the 24 works in the show, including “The Temptress” (in detail above), had sold before the doors opened.

The pictures will be on display from June 3 to July 16 before going to their new owners. The artist had been keen for people in Fife to get a chance to view his most recent work.

Many of the pictures are a little too adult for primary children, but art teachers in secondary schools may be interested in bringing students along.

Vettriano saw his most famous work, “The Singing Butler”, sell for Pounds 740,000 in 2004. More recently, he was accused of copying the figures in his paintings directly from an artists’ training manual.
