Viva the Victorians and their far-sighted vision

The TES has been part of my life for 40 of its first 100 years. I looked for my first job in it in the 1970s and it was essential reading when I was a minister, where I viewed it with either satisfaction or frustration, depending on its line! There is no strong culture of widely read professional publications in education, which means it has had a unique role. Happy birthday!
